Not to mention the hormones (which the Food and Drug Administration admit to here) and antibiotics prevalent in the meat industry. Eating meat has also been associated with a higher risk for cancer and Alzheimer’s as well as a shorter lifespan.

While a  2016 Harvard study found that, “Substitution of plant protein for animal protein, especially that from processed red meat, was associated with lower mortality, suggesting the importance of protein source.” 

On the other hand, a plant-based diet is high in fiber and lower in cholesterol and saturated fats. That’s a recipe for heart health, lower blood pressure and overall longevity.
