Known as face yoga to some, it’s hailed as a non-invasive alternative to Botox and surgery by way of anti-ageing facial exercises that help banish fine lines, sagging and wrinkles.

This kind of beauty enhancing face training is said to give you a “natural lift” and make you look a tad younger. But are facial exercises just another beauty fad that celebrities swear by to improve their skin’s youthful glow?

Facial exercises are said to work dozens of the 43 face muscles we have in our face without breaking a sweat.  As a result, we’ve seen an explosion of face training instructional videos and face yoga personal trainers claiming this process can reverse the visual effects of aging, but without any scientific proof.

These programs, according to The New York Times were often advertised as “non surgical face-lifts” and were generally developed by self-taught men and women, with only anecdotal evidence showing any beneficial effects.
